Palworld server settings live in PalWorldSettings.ini (Pal/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/ on our servers), on one OptionSettings=(...) line. On a FREAKHOSTING server you change them on the Palworld settings page in plain words, grouped into eight sections: Your server, Rates, Hunger, health and stamina, Damage and death, Bases and guilds, Game features, Access and admin and Advanced. Each setting below has its ini key and range. For multipliers, 1 is the normal game.

How the Palworld settings page works

  • Checks at the top list things to look at, such as “No admin password” or “Raids use memory”, with Go to the setting.
  • Start from a preset: Casual, Normal, Hard or Custom. See world settings.
  • Find a setting searches by name.
  • Settings marked STARTUP VARIABLE are also saved as startup variables; the rest only in PalWorldSettings.ini. Only what you change is touched.
  • Change values, click Review and save, check the list and click Save changes. Then restart the server. Discard drops unsaved changes.
  • If PalWorldSettings.ini doesn’t exist yet, the server creates it at first start, or saving creates it from the default settings.

Frequently asked questions

Where is PalWorldSettings.ini on a Palworld server?

Pal/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/PalWorldSettings.ini. Editing DefaultPalWorldSettings.ini has no effect.

Why are my ini changes ignored?

Stop the server before you edit, keep all settings on the one OptionSettings=(...) line, and restart afterwards. Settings marked STARTUP VARIABLE also come from the Startup page, so change those in the panel. The Palworld settings page handles all of this for you.

Can I restore the default settings?

Pick the Normal preset, review and save. It sets the preset numbers back to the game as Pocketpair ships it.

Tested by the FREAKHOSTING team on our Game Panel on 30 October 2026 (Palworld dedicated server on our Game Panel); keys checked against the official Palworld configuration docs. Steps may differ slightly if the game changes.
