Cleaning Up the World: Auto-Decay

In a busy survival server, players will come and go. Without a cleanup system, the map will quickly become cluttered with abandoned wooden shacks and half-finished bases, which bloats the save file and increases CPU usage.

Configuration Settings

Open your PalWorldSettings.ini and locate the following variables to manage map clutter:

1. Guild Wipe (Hard Reset)

This system deletes an entire guild’s existence if they stop logging in.
  • AutoResetGuildNoOnlinePlayers=true: Enables the inactivity wipe.
  • AutoResetGuildTimeNoOnlinePlayers=72.0: Set in hours. 72 = 3 days of total inactivity before deletion.

2. Building Deterioration (Soft Decay)

  • BuildObjectDeteriorationDamageRate=1.0: Controls how fast buildings outside of a Palbox’s radius take damage. Set to 0.0 to disable decay entirely for creative freedom.

Server Strategy

  • Casual PvE: We recommend disabling AutoResetGuild or setting the timer to 336 (2 weeks) to protect holidaying players.
  • Competitive PvP: Use a 72 or 48 hour timer to ensure territory remains contested and the map stays fresh for new players.
