Each IP address has its own settings that work alongside your filters. You can choose what happens to traffic no filter matches, and block or allow traffic from whole countries or networks.

IP settings page with Default action set to Filter, ASN blocking and Country blocking each set to Disabled, and a Review and save button

The IP settings page

The page has three sections: Default action, ASN blocking and Country blocking. Nothing changes until you review and save.

Default action

The default action is applied to traffic that isn’t matched by any of your filters.
With Drop, any port without a filter stops working, including SSH or Remote Desktop if you haven’t added filters for them. Check your active filters before you switch.

Block or allow countries

Country blocking controls traffic based on the country it comes from. You can add up to 20 countries.
1

Choose a mode

Under Country blocking, click Blacklist or Whitelist.
2

Add a country

Type the country’s two-letter code, such as US, GB or DE, then click Add. The country appears as a flag chip.
3

Add more

Repeat for each country. The counter shows how many of the 20 you’ve used.
4

Remove a country

Click the × on its chip.
Country codes use the two-letter ISO standard. A few that often catch people out: the United Kingdom is GB (not UK), and Germany is DE. You can look up any code in the ISO country code list.
A Whitelist blocks everyone outside the countries you add, including you if you’re travelling and your team members abroad. Use it only when your players or visitors come from a few known countries.

Block or allow networks (ASN)

Every internet provider or hosting company has an AS number (ASN) that identifies its network. ASN blocking lets you block or allow a whole network at once, for example a hosting company that attacks often come from. You can add up to 10 ASNs. The modes work the same way as country blocking: Disabled, Blacklist or Whitelist.
1

Choose a mode

Under ASN blocking, click Blacklist or Whitelist.
2

Add an ASN

Type the AS number, such as 13335, then click Add.
3

Remove an ASN

Click the × on its chip.
To find a network’s ASN, search an IP address on a lookup site such as bgp.he.net. The ASN is shown as “AS” followed by a number. Enter just the number.

Review and save your changes

The panel keeps track of your edits before anything goes live. An unsaved badge shows how many changes you’ve made, and a bar at the bottom says You have unsaved changes.
1

Click Review and save

At the bottom of the page, click Review and save.
2

Check the changes

The Review changes window lists each setting with its old and new value.
Review changes dialog listing each changed setting with its old and new value, and Cancel and Save changes buttons

Checking changes before saving

3

Save

Click Save changes. To go back and edit, click Cancel.
To throw away all your edits without saving, click Discard.

Troubleshooting

You probably set Default action to Drop while a port had no filter. Set it back to Filter, or add a filter for that port.
Some players use VPNs or mobile networks that appear to be in another country. Check you added the right two-letter code, or switch from Whitelist to Blacklist and block only the countries you don’t want.
You’ve reached the limit: 20 countries or 10 ASNs. Remove one you no longer need, or block specific addresses with an IP list.
Settings only go live after you click Review and save and then Save changes. Leaving the page without saving loses your edits.

Apply DDoS filters

Add filters for each port you use.

Create IP lists

Whitelist or blacklist specific addresses.
