Connection Information

Before you start, it is important to distinguish between the two IP addresses associated with your account:
  • Main IP (Webserver): Used for your website and DNS records.
  • MySQL IP: The specific address used to connect your applications to the database. You can find this in the At a glance section of your Dashboard.

Creating a Database environment

Setting up a database involves two distinct components: the Database itself and a User with permission to access it.
1

Create the Database

Log in to the Web Panel, select your website, and click Databases. Click the Add Database button, enter a name (e.g., wp_site), and save.
2

Create a Database User

In the same section, click Add User. Enter a username and use the built-in generator to create a strong password. Note these down!
3

Link and Assign Permissions

Locate your new database in the list and click the Manage Users icon. Select your user from the dropdown and assign the necessary privileges (usually All Privileges for standard apps).

Advanced Management

For importing .sql files or running manual queries:
  1. Navigate to the Databases tab.
  2. Click the phpMyAdmin button.
  3. You will be automatically authenticated into the web interface.

Security Best Practices

Always use complex passwords for your database users. Avoid using the same credentials for different services and never share them publicly to protect your sensitive data.
