Remote Console Access via Telnet

Telnet is a protocol that allows you to send commands to the server console from outside the game environment. This is essential for using advanced management tools like CSMM or RAT.

Configuration Steps

All Telnet settings are located within your serverconfig.xml file.
  1. Enable Service: Set TelnetEnabled to true.
  2. Setting the Port: Set TelnetPort (Default is typically the Game Port + 1, e.g., 8081).
  3. Security: Set a strong TelnetPassword.

Security Alert

Never leave the Telnet password empty. Leaving it blank allows anyone to scan your IP and gain full administrative control over your 7D2D server.

Connecting to Your Console

  • Windows Client: Enable the “Telnet Client” in Windows Features, then run telnet [IP] [PORT] in the command prompt.
  • PuTTY: Select the “Telnet” connection type, enter your server IP and Telnet port, and click Open.

External Map Access

If you use Alloc’s Server Fixes, the internal web map often relies on the Telnet system to relay player positions and world data in real-time.
