Crafting Embervale: Procedural Maps

Rust’s replayability stems from its procedural generation. Every “Wipe,” you have the opportunity to generate a completely new island with different monument placements, topography, and resource distribution. By controlling the Seed and Size, you dictate the physical geography of your server.

Configuration Variables

These settings are managed in your Startup tab or via RCON commands.

1. World Size (server.worldsize)

  • Minimum: 1000 (Extremely small, monuments may fail to spawn).
  • Recommended: 3500 - 4000 (The standard for 100-200 players).
  • Maximum: 6000 (Massive, requires significant RAM and CPU to maintain).

2. World Seed (server.seed)

  • Range: Any number between 1 and 2147483647.
  • Note: Changing the seed creates a completely different map structure.

Professional Map Selection

Don’t generate seeds at random. Use a visual gallery to ensure your map has the monuments (like Launch Site or Oil Rig) your players expect.
  1. Visit RustMaps.com.
  2. Filter by your desired size and monuments.
  3. Copy the Seed number.
  4. Input the size and seed into your FREAKHOSTING Startup tab.
