Remote Command: RustAdmin
Managing a high-population Rust server via the in-game F1 console is inefficient. RustAdmin is the industry-standard desktop software that provides a dedicated UI for monitoring chat logs, viewing player inventories, automating restart messages, and issuing bans.

Preparation
Before connecting, you must retrieve your RCON credentials from the Startup tab:- RCON IP: Usually your server IP.
- RCON Port: Often your game port +1 (e.g.,
28016). - RCON Password: Defined by you in the panel settings.
Connectivity Workflow (WebRCON)
Modern Rust servers use the WebRCON (WebSocket) protocol, which is more stable than the legacy Source RCON.- Enable WebRCON: Ensure
rcon.webis set to1in your Startup variables. - Setup RustAdmin: Open the application and navigate to the Configuration tab.
- Details: Enter your IP, RCON Port, and Password.
- Server Type: Ensure you select WebRcon in the dropdown menu.
- Connect: Click “Save” and then “Connect.” The status bar should turn green.
Troubleshooting
If the status remains red/disconnected:- Double-check your RCON password for typos or special characters that might require escaping.
- Verify that your RCON Port is correct. Some hosts use the game port for WebRCON, while others use a dedicated offset.
