Economy Management: Global Shops

An in-game shop provides a vital “sink” for player currency and rewards active survivors with rare items or vehicles like Minicopters. Depending on your server’s design, you can utilize physical currency via Economics or playtime-based points via ServerRewards (RP).

Core Components

To host a visual shop, you must install the following three-layer stack:
  1. Currency Handler: Install Economics (Money) or ServerRewards (Points).
  2. Image Library: Install the ImageLibrary plugin to handle item icon rendering.
  3. GUI Interface: Install GUIShop to provide the actual visual menu for players.

Configuring the Shop

Most configuration happens within /oxide/config/GUIShop.json. You can define categories (e.g., Weapons, Resources, Vehicles) and set their buy/sell prices.
  • Buy Price: The amount a player pays to receive the item.
  • Sell Price: The amount a player receives if they trade their items to the shop.
  • Buy Command: You can configure the shop to run console commands instead of giving items, allowing you to “sell” VIP ranks or permissions like /sethome.

Economic Balance

A well-balanced shop should not provide “End-Game” items like C4 or Rockets. Instead, focus on selling high-utility components (Gears, Springs, Pipes) to help players rebuild after a raid without removing the incentive to farm monuments.
