Migrating Worlds: Uploading
Whether you want to transition your private singleplayer adventure to a multiplayer group or host a custom adventure map like “Builder’s Workshop,” Terraria allows you to easily migrate world files between your local PC and your dedicated server.

The Migration Process
- Locate Your PC File: On your home computer, navigate to:
Documents \ My Games \ Terraria \ Worlds - Connect via SFTP: Use an FTP client to access your FREAKHOSTING server and navigate to the
/Saves/Worlds/directory. - Upload: Transfer your
.wldfile to the server. - Configuration:
- Open your
serverconfig.txt. - Set
world=Saves/Worlds/YourWorldName.wld. - Set
worldname=YourWorldName.
- Open your
- Restart: Reboot the server to initialize the uploaded world.
Common Failures
If the server generates a fresh world instead of loading your upload:- Case Sensitivity: Linux servers distinguish between
MyMap.wldandmymap.wld. Ensure your configuration matches the uploaded filename exactly. - Pathing Error: Ensure the
world=string in your config accurately points to the subdirectory where you uploaded the file.
