Modernizing Assetto Corsa

Although released in 2014, Assetto Corsa remains a top-tier simulator thanks to two community projects: Content Manager and Custom Shaders Patch (CSP). These tools are mandatory for joining most modern servers.

Step 1: Content Manager (The Launcher)

Content Manager replaces the slow and outdated vanilla launcher with a high-performance interface.
  1. Download Content Manager from acstuff.ru.
  2. Drag the contents to your Desktop and run the .exe.
  3. Direct the app to your Steam root folder. From now on, you should only launch the game via Content Manager.

Step 2: Custom Shaders Patch (CSP)

CSP adds much-needed features like night lighting and optimized multiplayer physics.
  1. Open Content Manager.
  2. Navigate to Settings (top right) → Custom Shaders Patch.
  3. Click the Install button. It will automatically download the latest recommended version.
  4. (Optional) For specialized Rain FX, you must support the creator (x4fab) on Patreon to receive the preview builds.

Step 3: Sol & Pure (Weather Engines)

To see the dynamic weather correctly when joined to a FREAKHOSTING server:
  1. Download Sol or Pure from RaceDepartment or Patreon.
  2. Drag the downloaded .zip directly into the Content Manager window.
  3. Use the install button in the top right “Hamburger” menu.
  4. In Settings → Video, select your weather script (e.g., “Sol 2.5”).
