To ban a player from your Assetto Corsa server, add their Steam ID (SteamID64) on its own line in blacklist.txt in the server’s main folder and restart the server. To unban them, delete that line and restart. During a race you can also kick or ban with /kick_id and /ban_id. What a kick means is set by BLACKLIST_MODE in cfg/server_cfg.ini (default 1).

How to ban a player permanently

Find the player's Steam ID

You need their SteamID64, a 17-digit number. It is in their Steam profile link, or ask the player.

Stop the server

Stop your server.

Edit blacklist.txt

In Files, open blacklist.txt in the main folder and add the Steam ID on a new line:

Save and start

Save the file and start the server. The player now gets a “banned” message when they try to join.

Save and start the server. With BLACKLIST_MODE=1, the restart also clears kicks from the last session.

What does BLACKLIST_MODE do?

Change the value under [SERVER] in cfg/server_cfg.ini while the server is stopped.

How to kick or ban during a session

Log in with /admin <password>, find the car ID with /client_list, then use:

”Failed to connect: you are banned on this server”

If you see this on someone else’s server, only that server’s owner can unban you. On your own server:
  • Check blacklist.txt for your Steam ID and remove it.
  • If you were kicked with BLACKLIST_MODE=1, restart the server.

Can I ban by IP address?

The Kunos server’s blacklist.txt uses Steam IDs. Ban the player’s Steam ID.

Why can a banned player still join?

Check that the ID is the 17-digit SteamID64, on its own line, and that you restarted the server after saving.

How do players vote to kick someone?

Players can start a kick vote in game. It passes when KICK_QUORUM percent (default 85) vote yes.
