Shared World Evolution
In Enshrouded, quest progression is server-wide rather than character-based. This architectural choice means that once a milestone is achieved, it is unlocked for every player tied to that world, regardless of whether they were online during the event.

Shared vs. Personal Progression
What is Shared?
- NPC Unlocks: If a group finds the Blacksmith, he becomes available to everyone on the server.
- Flame Altar Level: Global progress towards strengthening the flame is shared.
- World Story Quests: Major story beats completed by any player are marked as finished for the entire world.
What is Personal?
- Character Level and Skills: Your experience points and chosen skills remain unique to your character.
- Equipment: The weapons and armor in your inventory stay with you across different servers.
- Personal Map Progress: Individual fog-of-war on the map is cleared by each player separately.
