Overcoming Connectivity Barriers in Embervale

The Enshrouded dedicated server client is technically sensitive to specific configuration parameters and network synchronization states. If your participants encounter “Host Not Found” errors or if your server is failing to manifest within the global community browser, it is likely due to a metadata discrepancy or an engine-level restriction. Following this diagnostic checklist will help you resolve the most frequent connectivity blockers on your FREAKHOSTING instance.

Technical Connectivity Audit

Review these common architectural hurdles to ensure your server’s network profile is healthy.
Valve’s global server indexing system enforces strict limitations on hostname string lengths.
  • The Constraint: Names shorter than 4 characters or exceeding 30 characters frequently fail to register with the masterlist.
  • The Fix: Ensure your Server Name is between 5 and 25 characters and is entirely devoid of complex emojis or special symbols that can disrupt the engine’s query response.
During the current Early Access phase, Enshrouded receives high-frequency technical patches.
  • The Result: If your local game client has updated but your server node is still using a legacy binary, the engine will trigger a “Version Mismatch” disconnection.
  • The Fix: Access your Game Panel and use the Update button to trigger the SteamCMD validation process and synchronize your server files.
The Enshrouded engine relies on two distinct communication paths: the Game Port (Default 15636) and the Query Port (Default 15637).
  • Technical Note: FREAKHOSTING handles these mappings automatically. If you have implement custom port overrides, ensure that UDP traffic is authorized for both ports within your local firewall and network router.

The “Direct Join” Connection Protocol

The in-game browser uses a “Best Fit” algorithm that only displays a localized subset of active servers. If your community members cannot find your title via the search bar, using the Steam Master List is the most reliable technical workaround.
1

Access Steam Servers

Open your Steam client, navigate to the View menu, and select Game Servers.
2

Identify Favorites

Select the Favorites tab and click the (+) icon situated at the base of the list.
3

Target the Query Port

Input your server’s numerical IP address followed by the specific Query Port (e.g., 191.96.94.100:15637).
4

Initialize Join

Click Add This Address to Favorites. You can now join your server directly from this list, bypassing the in-game browser’s discovery limitations.
