Terraform Management
Enshrouded’s world is fully destructible, allowing players to dig tunnels and sculpt mountains. However, landscaping mistakes are common. Understanding how the game handles voxel regeneration is key to maintaining a clean world environment.

The Flame Altar Rule
Enshrouded uses a simple proximity logic for terrain persistence:- Inside Altar Radius: Terrain changes are permanent and saved to the world data.
- Outside Altar Radius: Terrain will regenerate naturally after approximately 2 in-game hours or upon a server restart (if no players are in the area).
Forcing a Terrain Reset
If you have made a mistake inside your base and need the ground to revert to its natural state:- Remove the Altar: Pick up the Flame Altar responsible for the zone. This immediately removes pixel protection.
- Clear the Area: Ensure all players leave the chunk so the server can unload it.
- Restart: Initiate a server restart via the FREAKHOSTING panel.
- Result: Upon rejoining, the terrain will be restored to its original untouched form.
Building Safety
Removing a Flame Altar will also cause any player-placed structures in that radius to lose their stability and protection. Only perform a terrain reset if you are prepared to rebuild any structures in that specific zone.Support Channels
