Managing Your Staff Hierarchy

To run a successful community, you must delegate power. Using the ULX Group system, you can create a hierarchy where “Moderators” can kick but not ban, and “VIPs” can access unique physics permissions without granting them administrative authority.

1. Creating a New Rank

  1. Open the ULX menu in-game (!menu).
  2. Navigate to the Users > Groups tab.
  3. Select an existing group (e.g., user) and click Create Group.
  4. Inheritance: We recommend making new staff ranks inherit from admin. This means they will start with all standard admin powers, which you can then take away (restrict) individually.

2. Assigning Permissions (ACEs)

On the right-hand panel of the Groups tab, you will see a list of every available command:
  • Granting: Check the box next to a command (e.g., ulx noclip) to allow that group to use it.
  • Restricting: If a group inherits from admin, but you don’t want them to ban, locate ulx ban and uncheck the box or set it to Deny.
