Server-Side Assets

While players need CSS to see textures, the server needs CSS to handle the physics of the map. If you do not mount CSS on the server-side, players may find themselves falling through certain floors, being unable to drive over bridges, or experiencing “Missing Map” disconnects.

1. Standard Activation (Automatic)

Most FREAKHOSTING GMod instances include the cstrike files by default. To activate them:
  1. Go to your Startup tab.
  2. Locate the Mount CSS toggle.
  3. Set it to Enabled.
  4. Restart your server.

2. Manual Verification (mount.cfg)

If the automatic toggle does not work for your custom build, you must edit the source file directly:
  1. Navigate to: /garrysmod/cfg/mount.cfg
  2. Open the file and ensure it follows this structure:
    "mountcfg"
    {
        "cstrike"    "/home/container/cstrike"
    }

  3. Save the file and Restart.

3. Testing the Mount

To confirm your server has successfully recognized the files, type mount into the Console.
  • Successful: It will list cstrike followed by the directory path.
  • Failed: The list will be empty or return an error. If this happens, verify that the cstrike folder exists in your root directory.
