The Memory Leak: Why Restarts Matter
Palworld, especially in its early access phase on Unreal Engine 5, is highly susceptible to “Memory Leaks.” This means that as time passes, the server will progressively consume more and more RAM, eventually exceeding your plan’s limits and crashing.

Recommended Restart Schedules
Since the game engine currently does not release unused memory back to the system, manual or automated restarts are mandatory for long-term stability.
| Server RAM | Recommended Frequency |
|---|
| 8GB - 12GB | Every 4 Hours |
| 16GB - 24GB | Every 6 - 8 Hours |
| 32GB+ | Once per day (24 Hours) |
Configuring Automated Restarts
You can automate this process via the FREAKHOSTING Game Panel:
- Navigate to the Schedules tab.
- Create a new schedule and set it to run on a Recursive interval (e.g., Every 4 hours).
- Add a task to this schedule with the action:
Power Control -> Restart.
Monitoring RAM
You can track your RAM consumption in the Console or Graphs tab. A memory leak appears as a constant diagonal line moving upward. Once it hits 100%, the process will likely be terminated by our system to protect the host node.
