Data Sovereignty: Palworld Saves
Palworld handles data by separating World State (Level.sav) and individual Player Data (Players/*.sav). This modularity is helpful but can lead to synchronization issues if a server is stopped ungracefully.

Optimizing the Save Interval
By default, the server writes to disk every 30 seconds. On large worlds, this can cause a “Micro-Freeze”.- Variable:
AutoSaveSpan=30.0 - Optimization: Increase to
300.0(5 minutes) for a smoother gameplay experience if your server is experiencing tick-rate stutters during saves.
Restoration Scenarios
World Corruption (Infinite Loading)
- Stop the server.
- Navigate to your
/backup/world/folder. - Choose a timestamp and copy the
Level.savandLevelMeta.savfiles. - Replace the main files in the root save directory and restart.
Player Character Reset
If a player is asked to create a new character:- Identify their unique GUID.
- Locate their backup in the
/backup/local/directory. - Move the backup
.savto the main/Players/folder, ensuring the filename matches their GUID exactly.
