Palworld save files on a FREAKHOSTING server are in Pal/Saved/SaveGames/0/<world id>. To back up a world, open Saves under PALWORLD and click Download, or make a full copy in Backups. For a complete copy, stop the server first. To use your own world, upload its folder to Pal/Saved/SaveGames/0.

Where are Palworld save files on the server?

The server creates its world the first time it runs. Each player’s progress is stored inside the world folder, so one world folder holds everything.

How to download a Palworld save

Stop the server

While the server runs, the page warns: “The server is running, so a download may be incomplete.”

Open Saves

Click Saves under PALWORLD in the sidebar. Each world shows its id, an IN USE badge for the active world, its size and when it last changed.

Click Download

Click Download on the world. Keep the file somewhere safe.

Details on a world shows extra facts, for example “0 players, 5 automatic snapshots.” Delete works only while the server is stopped.

How to back up a Palworld server

  • Panel backup: in Backups, click Create backup. It copies all server files and can be restored in one click.
  • Automatic backups: set a daily backup in Automatic backups.
  • Palworld snapshots: keep Keep automatic world backups switched on in Palworld settings > Advanced. Palworld then keeps snapshots in each world’s backup/world folder.

How to upload your own world

Back up and stop

Make a panel backup, then stop the server.

Upload the world folder

Upload the whole world folder (the one named with a long id) into Pal/Saved/SaveGames/0 with Files or SFTP. A world anywhere else isn’t found.

Point the server at the world

Palworld loads the world named in DedicatedServerName in Pal/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/GameUserSettings.ini. Set it to the folder name of your world.

Start the server

Start the server and check that Saves shows your world as IN USE.

How often does Palworld save?

Time between saves in Palworld settings > Advanced sets the autosave interval, from 10 to 3600 seconds. As admin you can also type /Save in chat at any time.

Where are Palworld saves on my own PC?

On Windows, co-op worlds are in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Pal\Saved\SaveGames\<number>\<world id>.

Why does Saves say “No saves yet”?

The server hasn’t started once yet, or a world was moved to the wrong place. It has to be in Pal/Saved/SaveGames/0.

Can I restore one of Palworld’s own snapshots?

Yes. Stop the server and copy a snapshot from backup/world back over the world in Files. Make a panel backup first.
