To let players teleport with resources on a V Rising server, open save-data/Settings/ServerGameSettings.json in the File Manager, change "TeleportBoundItems": true to "TeleportBoundItems": false, save and restart the server. Players can then use waygates while carrying ores, ingots, stone, planks and other resources. The setting is true by default, which is why the game says “You cannot use waygates while carrying certain items”.

Why can’t I teleport with certain items in V Rising?

By default V Rising stops you using waygates while you carry most crafting resources, such as ores, ingots, stone, planks, hides and fibres. Gear, potions and Blood Essence are not affected. To check an item, hover over it: blocked items say Cannot be Teleported in their description. The rule makes players carry resources home by hand. On your own server you can turn it off.

Stop the server

Stop the server in the Game Panel.

Open your game settings file

In the File Manager, open save-data/Settings/ServerGameSettings.json. If the file doesn’t exist yet, copy the default from VRisingServer_Data/StreamingAssets/Settings/ first; see server settings explained.

Change TeleportBoundItems

Find the line and set it to false:
If you made a short file with only your own changes, it can be as small as { "TeleportBoundItems": false }.

Leave the preset empty

On the Startup page, check that Game Settings Preset is empty. A preset replaces your file.

Save and start

Save the file and start the server. Rejoin and try a waygate with resources in your inventory.

How to turn the teleport restriction back on

Set "TeleportBoundItems": true again and restart the server.

Does the setting apply to every player?

Yes. It belongs to the server, so it applies to everyone who joins your server. You can’t change it on an official server you don’t run.

I set it to false but still can’t teleport. Why?

Check that you edited save-data/Settings/ServerGameSettings.json (not the file in StreamingAssets), that the JSON is valid, that Game Settings Preset is empty, and that you restarted. See settings not applying.

Can players in a clan use my waygate?

Yes. Clan members can use each other’s waygates, and the same item rule applies to them.
