The Eitr refinery is a Mistlands station that turns Sap and Soft tissue into Refined eitr. Put up to 20 Sap in the funnel at the front and up to 20 Soft tissue in the grinder on top. While working, it gives off discharges that do Lightning and Poison damage to nearby wood and stone. Black marble pieces and iron or copper cage pieces don’t take this damage.

You need a workbench nearby and these materials: It can stand on flat ground or a stone floor, and rain doesn’t wear it down.

How to use the Eitr refinery

Collect sap

Build a Sap extractor (it needs a Dvergr extractor from Dvergr component crates) on a glowing Yggdrasil root and collect the Sap.

Collect soft tissue

Mine the brain-shaped nodes in the Mistlands with a Black metal pickaxe or better.

Fill the refinery

Add up to 20 Sap to the funnel at the front and up to 20 Soft tissue to the grinder on top. Stairs make the grinder easier to reach.

Collect the refined eitr

Refined eitr comes out of the tube next to the sap input, opposite the grinder. A full load of 20 Soft tissue and 19 Sap gives 20 Refined eitr.

Why does the Eitr refinery damage buildings?

While it processes, the refinery gives off small discharges that do Lightning and Poison damage over time. Refined eitr left lying on the ground also gives off discharges. Over time these damage and can destroy wood and ordinary stone pieces nearby. These pieces don’t take the damage:
  • Black marble floors, walls and pillars
  • Iron cage and copper cage pieces

How to stop Eitr refinery damage

  1. Build the room around the refinery from black marble floors, walls and pillars, or use iron or copper cage pieces.
  2. Keep wooden and stone pieces away from it.
  3. Pick up refined eitr soon after it comes out and store it, so it doesn’t sit on the ground.
  4. Don’t run it unattended next to important parts of your base.
The Valheim Wiki gives no exact damage range, so leave generous space.

Does the Eitr refinery damage stone?

Yes. Ordinary stone pieces take the discharge damage. Black marble pieces don’t.

Why is my Eitr refinery not working?

It needs both inputs at the same time. Check that it has Sap (its fuel) and Soft tissue in the grinder.
