Professional Network Identification

Reverse DNS (rDNS) allows an IP address to be mapped back to a specific hostname. This is critical for email deliverability, as many mail servers (like Gmail or Outlook) will reject emails from servers that lack a valid PTR record.

rDNS Configuration Workflow

Follow these steps to update the PTR record for your assigned IP address.
1

Verify Your A-Record

Ensure you have an A-Record pointed from your domain (e.g., vps.example.com) to your VPS IP address. Our system will validate this during the update.
2

Access Network Settings

Log in to the Cloud Portal, click Manage on your VPS, and select the Network tab.
3

Open Reverse DNS Modal

Locate your assigned IP address and click the Reverse DNS button.
4

Enter FQDN

Input your hostname (e.g., vps.example.com) in the field and click Update.

Propagation Details

The change is applied to our nameservers immediately. however, internet-wide propagation can take up to 24 hours as external networks clear their DNS caches.
If the system rejects your update, ensure that ping yourdomain.com correctly returns your VPS IP address. If the A-Record is missing, the rDNS cannot be set.
