Power Management Procedure

All power actions are centrally located on your server’s primary dashboard.
1

Select Your VPS

Log in to the Cloud Portal and click Manage on your specific instance.
2

Identify Power Buttons

Located in the top header of the Overview tab:
  • Boot: Starts an offline server.
  • Shutdown: Sends a graceful signal to the OS to close safely.
  • Restart: Performs a clean reboot of the OS.
  • Power Off: Performs an immediate hard power cut (Cold Stop).

Understanding Control Logic

Graceful (Shutdown/Restart) sends an ACPI signal to the OS, allowing it to save data. Forceful (Power Off) cuts power instantly, which should only be used if the OS is frozen, as it can cause disk corruption.
A Power Cycle (using Power Off then Boot) is sometimes more effective than a software Restart if the underlying virtual hardware needs to be re-initialized.

Resource Upgrades

If you have upgraded your CPU or RAM via the billing area, you must perform a full Restart from this panel to apply the new hardware limits to your virtual instance.
