Troubleshooting via Cache

“Clear your cache” is the most common advice in the FiveM community for a reason. Because FiveM compiles scripts and stores map data locally to speed up loading, these files can occasionally become corrupted or outdated, leading to game-breaking glitches.

1. Resetting the Server Cache

Perform this if you have updated a script or map on the server, but the changes (or errors) from the old version persist.
  1. Stop your server via the FREAKHOSTING panel.
  2. Open the Files tab.
  3. Locate the cache folder in the root directory.
  4. Delete the entire cache folder. (Do not touch /resources/).
  5. Start the server. It will take slightly longer to initialize while it re-compiles your assets.

2. Resetting the Client Cache

If a specific player is crashing but the rest of your community is fine, the issue is on the player’s local machine.
  1. Close FiveM.
  2. Right-click the FiveM icon and select Open File Location.
  3. Open FiveM Application Data > data.
  4. Delete the following folders: cache, server-cache, and server-cache-priv.
  5. Restart FiveM and rejoin the server.

Data Safety

Clearing the cache is a safe procedure. It does not delete your MySQL database, player inventories, or server configuration files. It only removes temporary “compiled” files that the server or client will automatically recreate on the next launch.
