Steam Integration


To uniquely identify players and utilize Steam-based whitelists, your FiveM server must be linked to the Steam Web API. This allows the server to verify that a joining player is who they claim to be, matching their FiveM ID to their global Steam profile.

1. Obtaining Your Key

  1. Log in to your personal Steam account.
  2. Visit the Steam API Key Manager.
  3. Domain Name: You can enter your server’s IP address or simply freakhosting.com.
  4. Click Register and copy the long alphanumeric string provided.

2. Configuration via FreakPanel

  1. Access your FREAKHOSTING GamePanel.
  2. Navigate to the Startup tab.
  3. Paste the key into the Steam Web API Key field.
  4. Restart the server to apply the changes.

3. Manual Config (server.cfg)

If you prefer to manage settings via code, ensure the following line is present in your server.cfg:
# Steam Web API key (get one from https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey)
set steam_webApiKey "YOUR_API_KEY_HERE"

Security Warning

Your Steam Web API Key is a sensitive credential. Do not share it in support tickets or public discord channels. If you believe your key has been leaked, vous can revoke it on the Steam website and generate a new one instantly.
