Crystal Clear Communication

Modern FiveM servers utilize the built-in Mumble protocol for low-latency, high-fidelity VoIP. By using Mumble instead of external apps (like TeamSpeak or Discord), you ensure that voice data is perfectly synchronized with player positions and in-game radio channels.

1. Native Audio Setup

To ensure the best experience, we recommend using the PMA-Voice resource. Add these parameters to your server.cfg before you ensure the voice resource:
# Enable Native Audio (Required for Mumble)
setr voice_useNativeAudio true

# Proximity Logic
setr voice_useSendingRangeOnly true
setr voice_enableSubmix 1

# Default UI Settings
setr voice_defaultCycle "F11"
setr voice_defaultVolume 0.4

2. Troubleshooting “No Sound”

If a player reports they cannot hear others:
  • Output Device: Ensure GTA V > Settings > Voice Chat > Output Device is set to the correct headphones/speakers.
  • Submix Errors: If using custom sirens or radio effects, ensure voice_enableSubmix is set to 1 to prevent muffle effects.
  • Client Restart: Deeply desynced Mumble sessions on the client-side can usually only be resolved by a full restart of the FiveM application.
