CS2 server tags are set with the sv_tags command: a comma-separated list of words that shows for your server in the community server browser, for example sv_tags "competitive,community,eu". On FREAKHOSTING, open Server settings, click Open server.cfg, add the sv_tags line, save the file and restart the server.

How to set CS2 tags in server.cfg

Open server.cfg

Open your server, click Server settings under COUNTER-STRIKE 2, then Open server.cfg at the top. The file opens in the file manager’s editor.

Add the sv_tags line

Add one line with your tags, separated by commas:
If the file already has an sv_tags line, change that one instead of adding a second.

Save the file

Click Save Content. The file manager keeps the previous version under History.

Restart the server

Restart the server so it applies the new tags.

sv_tags syntax and examples

Keep tags short, in lower case, without spaces, and only use words that describe your server. To test a tag without a restart, type the same sv_tags command in the Console. That change lasts until the next restart.

Why don’t my CS2 tags show?

Check that the server is listed (it needs a GSLT), that sv_tags appears only once in server.cfg, and that you restarted. A plugin or another .cfg file may set sv_tags again later.

Can I put tags in the server name instead?

You can, but long names are hard to read. Keep the name short and put search words in sv_tags.

Do tags change the game mode?

No. Tags only describe your server. To change how it plays, see change the game mode.
