Breaking the Team Barrier

In standard competitive Counter-Strike 2, communication is restricted to teammates. However, for casual environments, surf servers, or community hangouts, enabling “All-Talk” allows for a more social and interactive gaming experience.

Configuring All-Talk

To enable cross-team communication, you must modify several variables in your /game/csgo/cfg/server.cfg file.
  1. Open your server.cfg in the FREAKHOSTING file editor.
  2. Paste the following commands:
    sv_alltalk 1 // Enable basic cross-team chat
    sv_full_alltalk 1 // Overrides team restrictions entirely
sv_deadtalk 1 // Allows dead players to talk to living players

  3. Save the file and Restart the server.

Granular Control

If you want to allow global chat but keep specific restrictions during matches, consider these alternatives:
  • sv_talk_enemy_living: Set to 1 to allow living enemies to hear each other.
  • sv_talk_enemy_dead: Set to 1 to allow dead enemies to hear each other.

Moderation Tip

Enabling All-Talk can lead to increased toxicity between competing players. We recommend having active moderators or using a toxicity-filtering plugin if you choose to enable global voice communication on a public server.
