To connect to a CS2 server, turn on the developer console in Counter-Strike 2 (Settings > Game > Enable Developer Console (~) > Yes), press ~ and type connect followed by the server’s IP and port, for example connect 203.0.113.10:27015. If the server has a join password, add it: connect 203.0.113.10:27015; password yourpassword.

Before you start

  • Your server is Online and the console has finished starting.
  • Your server’s address. In the Game Panel it is in the Copy address box next to the console, on the Overview page and on your server’s dashboard card.

Open the settings

In Counter-Strike 2, open Settings and then the Game tab.

Enable the console

Set Enable Developer Console (~) to Yes.

Open it

Press the ~ key, top left on most keyboards, below Esc.

How to connect to your CS2 server

Type the command in the console and press Enter. Replace the address with your own.
Always include the port after the colon, exactly as the panel shows it.

Friends can join the same way

Send your friends the address from the Copy address box. They connect with the same connect command. If you set a Join password in Server settings, give them the password too. See add a server password.

Why does the console not open when I press ~?

The developer console is off by default. Set Enable Developer Console (~) to Yes under Settings > Game.

Why can’t I connect to my CS2 server?

Check that the server shows Online, that you used the full address with the port, and that your CS2 is up to date. Restart the server so it picks up the latest CS2 update. If it has a password, include it in the command.

Can I find my server in the server browser instead?

Yes, once it has a GSLT. Without a token the server is not listed, but connect still works. See set the GSLT.

Where do I find my server’s IP and port?

In the Game Panel, in the Copy address box next to the console, on the Overview page under ADDRESS, and on the server’s card on the dashboard.
