Granular Resource Scaling

Beyond just upgrading your entire hosting plan, FREAKHOSTING allows you to modify specific Configurable Options for your active services. This is ideal if you need more of a specific resource (like a Dedicated IP or extra storage) without moving to a higher, more expensive service tier.

A list of available modifications will appear. Common options include:
  • Dedicated IP Address: Add or remove an IP.

Review the prorated cost for the new options and complete the checkout.

Key Differences

Upgrade refers to changing your entire package (e.g. from 4GB RAM to 8GB RAM). Upgrade Options refers to modifying a single part of your existing package (e.g. adding a Dedicated IP to your current 4GB RAM plan).
Just like plan upgrades, configurable options are calculated on a prorated basis. You only pay for the new resource for the remainder of your current billing cycle.

Reinstallation Requirements

Changing some options, such as the Operating System for a VPS, will require a complete server reinstallation. Ensure you backup your data before confirming these specific changes.
