Granular Resource Scaling

Beyond switching your whole hosting plan, FREAKHOSTING lets you adjust specific Configurable Options on an active service. This is ideal when you need a single add-on, such as an extra dedicated IP or a different location, without moving to a higher service tier.

Modifying Specific Options

Open the Service

Go to Services → My Services and open the service (via the Actions menu → Manage, or by clicking its name) to reach its Product Details page.

Open Upgrade/downgrade

Click Upgrade/downgrade, then switch to the Configurable Options tab.

Adjust Your Options

For each row, set the New Configuration dropdown, or leave it on No Change. Available options include:
  • Location: move your service to a different region.
  • IP Addresses: add extra dedicated IPs, priced per additional IP.

Continue and Pay

Click Continue, review the prorated cost, and complete checkout. Your service is updated once the invoice has been paid.

Good to Know

The Change Package tab switches your entire plan tier (for example, from BVPS-2 to BVPS-3). The Configurable Options tab adjusts a single add-on on your current plan, such as adding an IP address or changing location.
Like plan changes, configurable options are billed on a prorated basis: you pay for the new add-on only for the remaining days of your current billing cycle.
Changing a VPS operating system is not a configurable option. You can reinstall the OS yourself from the server’s control panel using Rebuild Server on the Product Details page.

Location Changes Affect Your IP

Changing your service Location moves it to a different node and results in a new IP address. Update any saved connection details and inform your players after the change.
