Optimizing Your Server Location

Selecting the appropriate geographical location for your server is the most effective way to reduce latency (ping) and provide a smooth experience for your players. At FREAKHOSTING, we offer high-performance nodes across Germany, the United Kingdom, Romania, and the United States, allowing you to position your services as close to your community as possible.

Selecting the Best Region

Proximity is the primary factor in network performance. Before requesting a transfer, we recommend testing your connection to our various global clusters.

Transfer Procedure

Relocating an active server involves both a billing update and a manual data migration by our support team.
1

Access Upgrade Options

Log in to the Client Area and navigate to Services -> My Services. Click on the service you wish to relocate.
2

Initialize Relocation

In the left-hand Actions sidebar, select Upgrade/Downgrade Options.
3

Select New Region

Locate the Location field under the New Configuration column and select your desired region. Click Click to Continue to proceed.
4

Confirm the Order

Complete the checkout process. Note that a one-time relocation fee or a difference in regional pricing may apply.
5

Submit a Migration Ticket

important: Once the order is placed, you must Open a Support Ticket specifically requesting the manual relocation. Confirm in the ticket that you are ready for the migration and acknowledge the IP change.

Post-Relocation Expectations

Moving to a new physical node always results in a new IP address. You must update your game’s server browser entry and provide the new connection details to your entire player base.
Our team will handle the secure transfer of your files to the new location. During this window, your server will be offline to ensure no data corruption or synchronization errors occur.

Prepare Your Community

Inform your players of the scheduled downtime and the forthcoming IP change before initializing the migration to minimize confusion and ensure a smooth transition to the new node.
