Hardening Your Account Security

Security questions provide a important fallback verification method. If our system detects an unusual login attempt or if you need to perform high-sensitivity actions (like an account recovery), we may ask for your secret answer. This ensures that even if someone potentially bypasses your password, they cannot easily take over your account without knowing your personal information.

Setting Up Your Questions

Follow these steps to establish your security fallback.
1

Navigate to Security

Log in to the Client Area and go to Account -> Security Settings.
2

Choose Your Question

Scroll to the Security Question section. Select a question from the dropdown menu that has a unique but memorable answer for you.
3

Input Secret Answer

Type your answer in the provided field. Note that the system is usually case-sensitive, so remember your capitalization.
4

Verify Current Password

To prevent unauthorized changes, you must enter your current account password to save the new security configuration.
5

Commit Changes

Click Save Changes to finalize the setup.

Best Practices for Answers

Do not use answers that someone could find on your social media profiles (e.g., your hometown or your pet’s name if you post about them frequently).
A strong technique is to use an answer that is unrelated to the question. For example, if the question is “What was your first car?”, your answer could be “Blue-Elephant-42”. Just ensure you store this in a secure Password Manager.

Multi-Factor is Better

Security questions are a fallback. For active, daily protection, we highly recommend enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) which provides much stronger cryptographic security.
